THE CLASSICAL APPROACH
Frédéric first encountered Chinese medicine through kung fu, qigong, and taiji in 1993. In 2013, he traveled to Wushanshan, China, to study Taiji at the Yuxu Temple under the guidance of Master Yuan Xiu Gang.
He studied classical Chinese medicine with Ann Cecil-Sterman, author of the widely acclaimed book “Advanced Acupuncture: A Clinic Manual,” and chief supervisor of the clinic at Dr. Jeffrey Yuen’s School of Classical Chinese Medicine in Manhattan. Through hundreds of hours of classes, he received direct transmissions from Ann in all acupuncture meridians, pulse and tongue diagnosis, nutrition, Chinese philosophy, and clinical skills.
He is deeply interested in the “inner tradition” of acupuncture, which recognizes that medicine can be used as a tool to aid in spiritual development.
Health, like a river, responds to life’s challenges by mobilizing the meridians to protect us from obstacles, but this can deplete our resources and reveal underlying issues, like rocks emerging from the riverbed. It is often at this point that individuals seek medical assistance. Through acupuncture and healthy lifestyle habits, we can restore energetic balance, renew our resources, and move from mere survival to flourishing.

We are able, with attention and intention, to become more of who we are. We can illuminate and embrace the lost or hidden parts of ourselves so that we might become a more authentic expression of that Self. Every movement we make towards consciousness makes us more human, and it is the depth of that humanity that will support us in fulfilling our purpose in this life.
